Opened in 2001, the Teslin Tlingit Heritage Centre, is an architectural award-winning building, located in a spectacular setting on Teslin Lake with a clear view of Tle’nax T’Awei (Lone Sheep Mountain). Upon arrival, you will be greeted by five traditional Clan poles carved by local artists. The poles represent their five clans and symbolize the elements of land, water and air.
Enjoy exhibits that highlight the rich heritage and culture of the Tlingit people. Next to the lake you will fine a canoe shed, a traditional fish camp and kitchen cache that are used throughout the year for open-air programming. Visit the gallery and gift shop for authentic Tlingit art, crafts and gifts.
