The Yukon First Nations Culture and Tourism Association (YFNCT) has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy to all of our members.

All personal information held or collected by YFNCT is protected under this Privacy Statement. This means that upon collection of any information from each user group or subscriber you will be informed of the purpose for which it is being collected and how to exercise your right of access to that information.

What data we collect

Cookies

We use Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel for analytic services. These third-party services work by dropping a cookie on your browser.

We use cookies that keep track of visitors to the website and to collect data about each visit, such as: 

• type of device or browser used; 
• how long, on average, visitors spend on their site or app; or 
• roughly where in the world their visitors are coming from. 

These data points are never used to identify the visitor or anyone else. We do NOT collect information or data that can be used to track you across the web or apps. We do not create user profiles or collect personal data such as your: name, email address, phone number, or anything that can identify you as an individual.

How do we use the data we collect

The primary way we use this high level data to help us understand how visitors are engaging with our website. It helps us understand things, such as: 

• which pages are visited the most
• how users are finding our website
• how many visitors we have and where in the world they are coming from

This helps us to improve the experience for visitors by helping us understand what’s working or not working. It also helps us understand what content visitors like the most so that we can create more of it.

How we use this data for advertising

We may use insights we’ve garnered via Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel (such as which geolocations are most interested in our content and which content visitors find the most interesting) to inform our advertising campaigns.

We may at times use remarketing with Google Ads and Facebook. Remarketing means that you may be served an ad because you visited our website. No personal information is used or collected for this ad. The way it works is that a small snippet of code (remarketing code) on our website adds you to a remarketing list. And then you see an ad when you visit another website that uses the Google Ad network. Remarketing lists usually last for 30-90 days.
